“There is a Season…Turn! Turn! Turn!”  0

Hey yall!

Well, clearly my plan to blog more has completely went out the window! Yall, I love blogging. Really. I do! But my life has been insane lately, and even though I just want to sit and blog everyday, I just haven’t been able to! By the end of the day, I am so exhausted, and just want to lay on the couch and snuggle my fur babies. Has someone figured out how to invent more hours in a day?! So I’m going to try so, so hard to do better at getting on here and giving yall updates!–As you can see, our website is still a mess! Where is my eye covering monkey emoji when I need it! I’ll try to get the hubs to work on that this weekend…maybe…hopefully! I so want it fixed!

So the last time I blogged, I told yall about how I was finally a NC girl again–praise!!–but we were staying with my hubby’s parents until our home sells, and we were on a big journey living out in their camper. Well times have changed my friends! And God sure knew his plans for us! Unfortunately, there was a huge family mess, and the hubs and I felt best that we move on and find ourselves somewhere else to live where we could have our privacy back and where we could really be home! God did not disappoint us yall! We were blessed to be able to get an apartment in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte! Literally, our new home is 10 minutes from the hub’s job, before he was driving 1 hour plus each way! The apartment complex is so beautiful and serene. It is right in the middle of everything, yet it is nestled back in this bliss of trees where you feel like you are secluded. When we moved down here, we never imagined getting an apartment or renting. We are homeowners and wanted to just purchase a home. But yall, I’m not kidding when I said God he had our plans because we could not be happier!! We love living in an apartment in the city! Yall know we are busy body people. We love going out, shopping ,eating, and what not. We are in the middle of everything! We have these common areas all around us, which are like tons of stores all put into one lot and you can walk to them all when you park your car. It is awesome. With the apartment, they take care of everything. Maintenance, landscaping, you name it. Yall know I also love to garden, well we have the cutest patio where I feel like I can get my gardening/planting on with no problem! And our apartment yall…our apartment is beautiful!! It is upgraded with a beautiful kitchen with espresso cabinetry (yall know I love my white cabinets, but I am getting used to these pretty puppies!), lovely white granite like counters, gorgeous dark wood tile floors (Yes tile!! It is awesome! We thought it was wood at first, but when they told us it was tile, we were shocked! It looks just like wood, but is so much more durable!), and the perfect light, white wall color, which yall know has my heart! We even have a fireplace–a wood burning fireplace. Eek!! Oh the rustic charm! The amenities are spot on too yall! Now let me tell ya, it is smaller than what we are used to. I never thought I would be downsizing at 27! Ha! But all my vintage treasures fit beautifully, and really the space is perfect for the hubs and me and our fur babies. It’s funny because we laugh now and think, why did we think we needed to buy a home right off the bat? We are young (well the hubs thinks he is the crept keeper at age 30! Ha!), we only have children with fur, and we have all this life in us. Why did we never think to want to be right in the hub bub of everything? Yall, of course I still want my farmhouse, but can I wait so we can fully enjoy this season of our life? YES! I tell ya, God amazes me everyday with what he has provided for us! Blessed, we are blessed!

So a lot of people still ask if we sold our home yet. The answer is no. Unfortunately, no. The market just really stinks where we used to live. But I have chose to not dwell on it like I used to! Like I said earlier, we are blessed. We are thankful and grateful for what God has provided us to be able to do.We are financially safe and sound still, even with having to pay rent each month. We are still able to keep up with the lifestyle that we are used to (Gosh I know that sounds shallow, but I don’t mean for it to! Anyone who knows me best, just knows I am a shopper, I spend. Ha! Even if it’s at the grocery store! I have done a lot better in the past year though with not spending as much, and being happier with what I already have! Progress, I am making progress yall! ). But we are reminded every day that we should be grate and thankful, and we truly are! We hope the house sells soon, we are at the point where we don’t care how much it goes for as long as we break even. We just want it out of our hands! When I do have my slight moments of worry, as the hubs likes to joke, we have a vacation home in the mountains–HA!! Unfortunately, it is just no vacation I want to be a part of! Insert hysterical laughing emoji!

I want to give one more quick life update before I start giving yall a glimpse into our new home! If you’ve been with me since the beginning of this ol’ blog, you know I am a worrier, a stresser, a person with anxiety. I can honestly say that since being home, I have felt more like myself–my happier, light hearted self, than I have in quite some time! Do I still worry about things, yep, silly things yall! But I am coping much better and am able to deal with it so much better being here with family. I feel so much better. Health wise. I don’t feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders anymore. That song that talks about just breathing–can’t think of the singer or name of it, but it’s a girl on the pop stations—just breeeeeaaaatheee–yeah it’s my jam. Breathing helps yall. Being able to step back from a situation and just breathe helps tremendously! I felt suffocated living in WV–well suffocated in my job really, never able to really “breathe”, but now, man, the air is flowing!! Ha! So yall, the old me is coming back, and it feels great!

*On a side note–I’ve been seeing all these back to school things popping up and seeing it all in the stores, and I’m just over here like the Sound of Music memes dancing around like, Look at this stuff, thank God it’s not for meeeeeeeee! HAHA! PRAISE! Or in a Madea voice Hallelujer!!

Ok, so I’ve been dying to share our new home with yall! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have seen these pictures! I wanted to share little bits at a time if that’s ok with yall! So the first space I wanted to share with yall is our dining room! Can yall believe I actually have before photos?! I’m always so bad at that! But alas, I have them this time! So let’s take a look at the space when we first were moving in:

Then after all the mess was cleared, I was able to start envisioning the space! Yall spy that little white bookshelf in the corner? Yeah, that was a 5 shelf bookcase that was in our previous living room that broke on the ride down the mountain! Boo! I was able to salvage this part though and thought it would be perfect in this little nook!
